​ElectroChlorination

​Electro Chlorination is the process of extracting hypochlorite from sea water or brine by running an electrical current through the salt water. This process is used to disinfect water for human consumption and enjoyment such as swimming pools and drinking water.

An electrolizer cell in combination with salt water sometimes sea water can be used to generate sodium hypochlorite. This is accomplished through a water channel equipped with a Cathode and Anode. As the water flows between the cathode/anode channel a low DC voltage is applied. Once electrolysis begins the sodium hypochlorite is generated along with hydrogen gas. The next step is to remove the hydrogen gas which can vary system to system. The finished product is then stored in a tank for on demand use.
